Red Sea high-risk zone expanded by London insurers following Houthi attacks
London's marine insurance market widened the high-risk zone in the Red Sea following attacks by Yemen's Houthi movement, according to a July 29 advisory from the Joint War Committee. The extended zone now covers more of the Red Sea coast adjacent to Saudi Arabian ports, reaching close to the port of Jizan. The Houthis declared a maritime embargo against Saudi Arabia on July 20, with two Saudi-linked vessels attacked in the days following the announcement.
