Argentina Sanctions Spanish Vessel for Illegal Fishing in EEZ

The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries detected the Spanish-flagged vessel "Farruco" operating illegally in Argentina's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Sanctions amounting to $1,844,000,000, equivalent to 1,000,000 Fishing Units (UP), were imposed. This is the fifth vessel sanctioned so far this year, as part of the zero-tolerance policy against illegal fishing.
