Cosco Shipping and Contecon Strengthen Operations in the Port of Guayaquil
The alliance between Cosco Shipping and Contecon is projected to exceed 900,000 containers moved in the Maritime Port of Guayaquil during 2026. The WSA 5 service reduced transit times to Asia from 45 to 27 days with vessels of up to 10,500 TEUs. The growth of trade with China boosts banana and shrimp exports, while the deepening of the access channel will allow larger vessels to be served.
