Royal Navy Mine Countermeasures Force Deploys to Middle East for Hormuz Strait Mission

The United Kingdom's specialist mine countermeasures force has arrived in the Middle East aboard the RFA Lyme Bay, carrying more than 270 personnel and advanced autonomous mine-hunting systems. The deployment, escorted by HMS Dragon and accompanied by German naval vessels, supports a UK-France led Multinational Military Mission endorsed by European leaders to restore commercial confidence in the Strait of Hormuz through mine clearance and freedom of navigation verification.
