UKMTO: Vessel Hijacked at Anchorage off Fujairah
British maritime security agency UKMTO reported that a vessel at anchor was seized by unauthorized personnel at approximately 0545 GMT on May 13, 2026, about 38 nautical miles northeast of Fujairah. The vessel is now headed for Iran's territorial waters. The incident occurs as Iran operates more than 340 active speedboats in the Strait of Hormuz, enforcing its newly-enlarged definition of sovereignty rights in the strategic waterway.
