Agunsa began operating on November 2 as the national logistics operator for CMPC, one of the leading forestry and industrial companies in Latin America with 106 years of history. From Agunsa's distribution centers in Santiago and Talcahuano, the company will manage all of CMPC's cargo to 25 destinations throughout Chile, integrating logistics and transport capabilities into a single service model.
Inauguration ceremony
The launch of the new operation was formally celebrated on Wednesday, November 4, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Lampa distribution center, which brought together executives and operations teams from both companies.
More than 40 employees dedicated to the account
Alfredo Repenning, Agunsa's Storage and Distribution Manager, stated that the rollout was the result of months of strategy and planning alongside the team to ensure a smooth start, and noted that more than 40 employees are currently dedicated to this client with the goal of delivering outstanding service from day one.
Prior experience in mining and retail
According to Tomás Valenzuela, Agunsa's Commercial Manager, the contract came about after CMPC saw firsthand how the company had transformed logistics in the retail and mining industries, and challenged it to bring that experience to its own operations, with a model focused on generating efficiencies, strengthening processes, cargo traceability, operational continuity, sustainability and safety.
Agunsa stated that this operation represents a strategic step toward more integrated, efficient and reliable logistics, aimed at boosting CMPC's competitiveness throughout Chile and reinforcing the company's position as one of the leading players in national logistics.
