Cor del Port, a committee driven by the PortCastelló Foundation together with the Port Authority of Castellón to promote collaboration and solidarity within the port community's business sector, agreed to hold the 1st CSR and Sustainability Day. The event is scheduled for the first quarter of next year.
The event will bring together non-profit organizations and NGOs that will showcase different ways of generating a positive impact on society, through environmental outreach activities, talks and conferences, and an exhibition area where visitors can learn about the volunteer work carried out by each organization. Through this initiative, Cor del Port reaffirms the port community's commitment to social inclusion and strengthens the bond between the port and the city.
First-Half Review
During the first half of the year, Cor del Port carried out activities in areas such as health and emotional wellbeing, through awareness talks given by Teléfono de la Esperanza de Castellón, and marine sustainability, with coastal clean-up days, efforts against marine litter, and the sponsorship of projects alongside SEO/BirdLife's Proyecto Libera.
New Alliances
The working group, which brings together more than forty companies and collaborating organizations including terminal operators, shipping agents, freight forwarders, hauliers, service providers and concession holders, also defined upcoming lines of action and gave visibility to the work of local organizations such as the Fundación Le Cadó and the Asociación de Padres de Personas con Autismo de Castellón (APNAC), whose proposals will be incorporated into the port's social agenda.
The PortCastelló Foundation highlighted the importance of giving continuity to these joint working initiatives, viewing social responsibility not as isolated actions but as a model of ongoing alliances to address the province's environmental and social challenges. Through this initiative, the Foundation and the Port Authority reaffirm their vision of PortCastelló as an infrastructure that, beyond being an economic driver, acts as an active agent promoting inclusion, sustainability and social wellbeing in its surrounding area.
