GlobalPorts will hold the first edition of Expo GlobalPorts on November 3 and 4 at the Bolsa de Cereales de Buenos Aires, an event combining conferences, a trade exhibition and business matchmaking sessions focused on waterway transport, offshore operations and mining logistics. The event continues the industry's traditional seminars while adding an exhibition featuring more than 50 exhibiting and sponsoring companies.
From Discussion to Business
Ariel Armero, director of GlobalPorts, explained that for 36 years the Seminar has been the place where the industry gathered to discuss the future, and that the Expo adds the possibility for that conversation to turn into business, in the same venue and the same week, because agriculture, mining and Oil and Gas are no longer separate worlds and now share ports, fleets and challenges. Diego Bercholc, managing partner of GlobalPorts, added that Argentine logistics needs to invest and innovate amid a context of record exports and growing grain, oil & gas and mineral traffic, with the goal of connecting cargo with terminals and shipowners, and connecting them with specialized suppliers amid a transition driven by the change in the economic model.
Four Key Themes
The program is organized around four central themes: grain exports, energy and offshore, mining, and waterway transport. Highlights include the long-term outlook for the waterway, the process behind the new concession of the Vía Navegable Troncal, economic and financial prospects for 2027, and the logistics of the new energy hub.
Panel Schedule
The formal opening will take place on Tuesday the 3rd at 10 a.m. with industry authorities from the ANPyN and the Prefectura Naval, and at 11 a.m. Iñaki Arreseygor, executive director of the ANPyN, will be interviewed by Eduardo Feinmann on the competitiveness of river infrastructure works. At 3 p.m., the new concession of the Vía Navegable Troncal will be discussed by Juan Bautista Allegrino and Alejandro Cherubini, moderated by Juan Carlos Venesia, while the economic closing session of the first day will be led by Marina Dal Poggetto and Lucio Guberman. On Wednesday the 4th, at 9:30 a.m., the panel on the logistics of the new energy hub will be held, moderated by Ernesto López Anadón, focusing on projects such as Argentina LNG, Southern Energy and VMOS, with the financial closing session led by Claudio Zuchovicki.
Registration and Institutional Support
Admission to the event is free but requires prior registration, as GlobalPorts validates each request and sends an accreditation QR code. The Expo is backed by organizations such as CERA, CIRA, the Cámara de Puertos Privados y Comerciales, the Consejo Portuario Argentino, the Centro de Navegación, CIARA-CEC, CAEM, the IAPG, the UIA, the Prefectura Naval Argentina, the OAS's Inter-American Committee on Ports, and AAPA LATAM.
