GTT Marine, a business unit of GTT Group and provider of advanced technologies and digital solutions for vessel performance, announced the opening of an office in Tokyo. The new office aims to strengthen ties with customers in the region, enabling Japanese shipowners and operators to access dedicated expert support, performance intelligence and reliable data on their vessels.
A Strategic Market
Japan is regarded as one of the world's leading nations in shipbuilding and ship ownership, making it a strategic market for GTT Marine. The company already works with several Japanese shipowners and operators, building on long-standing relationships.
Scope of the New Team
From Tokyo, the team will support customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their operations, from the installation and servicing of onboard systems such as Voyage Data Recorders (VDR) and Shaft Power Meters, to performance analysis that turns vessel data into measurable fuel savings, lower emissions and regulatory compliance. The team will be made up of sales, customer success and technical support professionals, and the office is located in the Yanmar Building in Tokyo.
Executive Statements
Casper Jensen, CEO of GTT Marine, noted that in Japan, customer proximity and a deep understanding of the local market are essential, and that the presence in Tokyo reflects the company's commitment to combining local expertise with technological innovation to deliver practical solutions based on reliable data. For his part, Gary Garner, Sales Director for GTT Marine in Japan, who will lead the new office, stated that what matters to Japanese operators is the same as anywhere else: reliable data and proven results, and that working in the same time zone and language as customers will be key to turning fleet data into clear decisions.
