Holland America Opens Bookings for 2028 Canada and New England Season

Holland America Line opened bookings for its 2028 Canada and New England cruise season, which will run from May to October aboard the vessels Volendam and Zuiderdam. The itineraries will range from seven to 14 days, with departures from Montréal, Québec City, Boston, New York and Fort Lauderdale, in addition to longer Collectors' Voyages.

The season will mark the regional debut of the Zuiderdam following its passage through the Evolution modernization program, which included renovated staterooms and public spaces, Solo Verandah staterooms, the Bridgeview panoramic suites and the Grand Dutch Café. According to Cruise Industry News, the Zuiderdam is the second of six ships to go through this program, described as the largest fleet refurbishment in the company's 153-year history.

The company highlighted that it will offer more port calls in Montréal than any other cruise line. Ports included feature Prince Edward Island, Sydney and Halifax in Nova Scotia, Portland in Maine, Québec City, Montréal and Saint John in New Brunswick. Select itineraries include overnight calls in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and in Saint John, as well as overnight stays in Québec City.

Paul Grigsby, Vice President of Revenue Management and Deployment at Holland America Line, noted that one of the aspects guests most enjoy about the region is being able to experience a European flair without crossing the Atlantic, citing the French influence of Montréal and Québec City alongside the maritime traditions of Atlantic Canada. He added that the line complements onboard offerings with local entertainment, regional dining options and programming tailored to each destination.

Among the featured voyages is a nine-day cruise called Lighthouse & Harbors of Canada & New England, which the Volendam will sail from Montréal to New York departing September 30, 2028, with port calls in Québec City, Saguenay, Prince Edward Island, Sydney, Halifax and Portland. There will also be two ten-day Québec and Newfoundland itineraries aboard the Volendam, departing June 7 and August 19, and 14-day voyages between Fort Lauderdale and Montréal, one of them aboard the newly refurbished Zuiderdam, departing from Québec City on October 14, 2028.
