The container ship MirandaGreen arrived at Grupo JSV's Alicante Hub, completing the company's incorporation of its two Next Generation vessels alongside the MilaGreen. The new unit has a nominal capacity of 1,200 TEU and shares the design features of its sister ship, as part of the shipping line's Move To Green strategy.
Design Adapted to JSV's Operations
Both vessels were designed to adapt to the particularities of JSV's operations and to the diversity of containers the company works with, featuring greater width and height in all positions to optimize the loading of Pallet Wide High Cube and 45-foot PwHc containers. One of the distinctive features of the design is the cell guides, metal structures that guide and position containers during stowage: in each vessel's four center holds, these guides run through 11 tiers without intermediate hatch covers, allowing containers to be guided from bottom to top, speeding up stowage and avoiding the need to open and close hatch covers between tiers.
Technology for Efficiency and Sustainability
The MirandaGreen incorporates the same efficiency- and sustainability-oriented technology as the MilaGreen: both vessels are methanol ready and can connect to shore power while in port. JSV also notes that it has already obtained verification of its organizational carbon footprint under ISO 14064-3 and is working on ISO 14083 certification for the logistics routes it operates on behalf of its customers.
Statements from JSV's CEO
Sonia Herzog, CEO of Grupo JSV, explained that having the two Next Generation vessels, together with trucking and rail, allows the company to complete its logistics model with its own efficient and sustainable assets, combining different modes of transport to move each shipment in the most efficient way possible. The company highlighted that with the MilaGreen and the MirandaGreen now in Alicante, it continues to shape Move To Green, integrating its own assets within a multimodal chain aimed at reducing the environmental impact of transport.
Recent Recognition
The arrival of the MirandaGreen coincides with the recent Distribution Award from the Forbes-UBS Sustainability Awards 2026 granted to JSV, which highlighted the company's combination of transport modes and the investments behind that model, including the two Next Generation vessels.
