On Tuesday, October 27, the company Log-In Logística Integrada carried out its first 2026 operation at Grupo Chibatão's provisional floating dock in Itacoatiara, Amazonas state. The vessel Log-In Endurance, which arrived with 2,212 TEUs, transshipped 175 containers onto barges as part of a lightering operation.
According to the company, removing part of the cargo reduces the vessel's draft, allowing it to continue on to Manaus under conditions compatible with the navigation restrictions imposed by low water levels on rivers in the Amazon region.
The floating dock arrived in Itacoatiara on September 18, having departed from Manaus the day before. The structure was first used in 2024 and allows cargo transport to be adapted to river conditions: during lightering operations, part of the cargo remains on barges while the vessel continues its voyage with a reduced draft, giving shipowners an alternative to keep supplying industry and trade in Amazonas.
At 277.5 meters in length, the dock has three cranes for cargo handling and an additional support crew. The operation was designed to run around the clock, with approximately 150 workers dedicated to cargo handling and logistics throughout the entire low-water period.
Log-In's Navigation Executive Director, Felipe Gurgel, said the operation is the result of planning sustained throughout the year together with the port terminal, and called it a milestone for the company. For his part, Grupo Chibatão's CEO, Jhony Fidelis, highlighted that Log-In was one of the project's first partners since 2024 and thanked the company for its renewed trust in the structure.
