Maersk announced two changes to its service network: the addition of a new port call at Jeddah within the ME2 service, and the transfer of the Colombo call from the AE15 service to the AE12. According to the carrier, these changes are intended to improve connectivity between northern Europe and Saudi Arabia, and to link the Adriatic—via the ports of Koper and Rijeka—with Sri Lanka, southern India and Bangladesh through Colombo.
New ME2 Rotation
The new ME2 service rotation will include the ports of Ennore, Colombo, the Suez Canal, Algeciras, Rotterdam, London Gateway, Hamburg, Tangier, the Suez Canal and Jeddah, before returning to Colombo. The first vessel affected by this change will be the Maersk Tukang, on voyage 649E, with an estimated arrival at Jeddah on December 20, 2026.
Changes to AE12
For the AE12 service, the new rotation includes calls at Ningbo, Shanghai, Tanjung Pelepas, the Suez Canal, East Port Said, Koper, Rijeka, East Port Said again, the Suez Canal, Colombo and Singapore. The company reported that the first vessel impacted will be the Alva Maersk, on voyage 652E, with an expected arrival at Colombo on January 12, 2027.
Portal Portuario noted that the new AE12 rotation configuration will take effect as of that date, according to the notice Maersk sent to its customers. The Danish carrier also stressed that the schedules reported remain subject to change.
The information was also picked up by the outlet Jornal Portuario, which relayed Portal Portuario's report on the transfer of the Colombo call from the AE15 service to the AE12.
