The A Coruña Port Authority (APAC) has opened to public consultation the administrative concession request filed by operator Maritime Global Services (MGS) to build a warehouse for storing equipment linked to its services at Punta Langosteira.
Location and project details
The facility will be located at Berth A3 of the Outer Port, on a 1,500-square-meter plot, with a built area of approximately 750 square meters. The planned investment exceeds 330,000 euros, and commissioning is projected for the end of next year, once administrative procedures and construction work have been completed.
Boosting operations at the Outer Port
The facility will allow MGS to store equipment, materials and auxiliary resources needed for its daily operations, strengthening its operational capacity in an area experiencing steady growth in maritime traffic. APAC noted that the initiative responds to needs arising from the development of the Outer Port, which is consolidating its position as a strategic hub for new industrial and energy initiatives.
A company with a long history at the port
MGS currently has its headquarters at the Oza quay and, with this new facility, will strengthen its presence at the Outer Port. The company provides mooring and unmooring services for vessels at the Port of A Coruña, water surface cleaning, auxiliary craft, oil spill response, inspections and underwater work, as well as support for maritime construction and specialized logistics operations. According to Info Puertos, it is a family-owned company founded in the early 1960s as a mooring cooperative for ships and stevedores, which evolved into a leading maritime operator in Spain.
