MSC Cruises celebrated the float-out of the MSC World Atlantic at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, on September 26, 2026. The ship, the fourth vessel in the World Class powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), is scheduled to be delivered to the line in 2027 and will debut with departures from Port Canaveral, Florida, in November of that year.
Fleet and Features
With this addition, the MSC World Atlantic will become the twenty-fifth ship in the MSC Cruises fleet and the fourth LNG-powered vessel in the World Class series, following the MSC World Europa, the MSC World America, and the MSC World Asia. The ship will feature seven themed districts, each with its own atmosphere and amenities, including the MSC Yacht Club complex.
Onboard Offerings
Regarding its dining and entertainment offerings, Cruise Critic reported that the MSC World Atlantic will have 19 restaurants and 18 bars and lounges spread across 22 decks, while Cruise Industry News noted that the ship will feature more than 38,000 square meters of public space and a total of 40 bars, restaurants, and lounges.
Itineraries
The MSC World Atlantic will offer alternating 7- and 14-night itineraries through the Eastern and Western Caribbean, with calls at destinations such as Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises' private island in the Bahamas. Bookings for these itineraries, which will begin in November 2027 from Port Canaveral, are already open.
Industry Context
The launch of the MSC World Atlantic comes at a time of strong shipbuilding activity in the cruise industry. According to Maritime Executive, the ship is progressing through its assembly phase, while its sister ship, the MSC World Asia, completed sea trials and is preparing to enter service in late November. The same source noted that MSC Cruises had already confirmed, in November 2025, an additional investment of 3.5 billion euros for the seventh and eighth ships in the World Class, expected in 2030 and 2031.
