MSC Cruises confirmed that its new flagship, MSC World Asia, will feature the Eataly restaurant on board, an Italian dining concept that had already debuted on MSC World America. The ship will begin sailing the Mediterranean from Barcelona starting December 4, 2026.
A Ship with an Extensive Dining Offering
MSC World Asia will feature more than 40 bars, lounges, cafés and restaurants, several of them developed together with world-renowned culinary partners. According to Cruise Industry News, the ship recently completed its final sea trials, and its delivery is scheduled for November 25, 2026.
CEO's Remarks
Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises, emphasized that dining and hospitality are at the core of the experience the company seeks to offer its passengers, noting that the partnership with Eataly brings a well-known culinary brand to sea. Onorato added that, following Eataly's success aboard MSC World America, they expect to offer Mediterranean passengers an experience with a menu reflecting the line's global character.
Restaurant Concept
The restaurant will offer a contemporary setting with elegant design, and a menu focused on regional specialties and classic Italian dishes. Live cooking will be a central feature, with a dedicated chef for each table, while diners will be able to dine on the terrace with ocean views and take a personalized tour of The Terrace bar's cellar to select their own bottle.
Itinerary
Following its maiden voyage on December 4, MSC World Asia will operate seven-night Mediterranean itineraries with calls at Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia (for Rome), Naples and Valletta, with bookings already available.
