Brazilian company nstech launched a logistics control tower based on agentic artificial intelligence, integrated into its Transportation Network System (TNS) platform. The tool makes it possible to monitor operations, identify risks, and carry out certain actions without direct human intervention, the company reported.
How it works
The system operates on a five-stage cycle -monitor, understand, decide, act, and learn- and can be applied to processes such as risk management, load scheduling, freight auditing, order management, and reverse logistics. According to transporte moderno, the technology operates at four levels of autonomy, ranging from monitoring and recommending actions to the automatic execution of routine tasks, while actions requiring greater control remain subject to human approval.
Industry context
The launch comes amid pressure on logistics costs: according to ILOS data cited by the company, these costs account for close to 15% of Brazil's Gross Domestic Product, while Uber Freight data indicates that around 35% of trucks run empty. Added to these issues are cargo theft and delays at yards, challenges that the new control tower seeks to address by anticipating risks before they materialize.
Scope and limitations
nstech's ecosystem, which feeds the tower's algorithms, brings together close to 75,000 clients and more than 2.4 million connected drivers. According to the company, the platform makes it possible to expand the number of assets monitored per operations manager from 30 to 500. However, transporte moderno noted that the company did not present results from actual operations that would allow for an assessment of the real productivity gains.
Statements
Achiles Rodrigues, nstech's Vice President of Customers, said that the main challenge in logistics is to offer control, visibility, and predictability without letting the cost of service spiral out of control and without neglecting governance across the entire chain. The executive added that with the Agentic Tower, the company aims to move from the software-as-a-service model to what he defined as the era of "Outcome as a Service," in which technology acts directly to reduce costs rather than merely offering dashboards for consultation.
