Ocean Network Express (ONE) released its shipping schedule for the 2026-2027 Chilean cherry export season, which includes nine direct connections from Valparaíso to Hong Kong between November and January through its ONE Cherry Express Connection service. The carrier noted that it will apply temporary adjustments to the itinerary and sailing speeds in order to meet the requirements of this perishable cargo.
Sailing Schedule
The service operates under the designation AX1 on ONE's side, coordinated alongside MSC's Inca service. The first sailing is scheduled for November 13 with the vessel Itajai Express departing from Terminal Pacífico Sur in Valparaíso, with arrival in Hong Kong on December 6, according to ONE's schedule. It will be followed by weekly departures with the vessels Rio de Janeiro Express, Buenaventura Express, Lima Express, Buenos Aires Express, Humboldt Express, ONE Sincerity, ONE Sapphire and Montevideo Express, the latter scheduled for January 8, completing the nine connections announced by the carrier.
MSC Involvement
Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) also announced its own sailings for the cherry season, with the Alpaca service to Nansha starting on November 9 from San Antonio Terminal Internacional with the vessel Torrance, followed by ten other vessels through January 2027. In addition, the Swiss carrier will add an extra rotation called Extra Loader Shanghai between Valparaíso and Shanghai, with departures from Terminal Pacífico Sur between late November and December.
Temperature Control and Traceability
ONE highlighted that for this season it will use its COOLTemp solution, designed for shipments requiring cold treatment during transit, using probes installed in reefer containers that monitor the pulp temperature of the fruit to comply with the quarantine requirements of destination markets. This is complemented by the CONTAINER+ tool, which provides exporters with near real-time information on the location and temperature of their refrigerated cargo.
