Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos (TPE), operator of the Port of Paita, reported that it handled 13,832 TEU of grapes bound for international markets during 2026. According to the company, that number of containers was equivalent to 511,443 metric tons of fruit shipped from the port facility located in the department of Piura, in northern Peru.
Destinations for the fruit
The main destinations for the grapes exported from Paita were the Netherlands, the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Colombia and Spain. TPE stated that it continues to connect northern Peru with the world and to drive the country's foreign trade, highlighting the port's role in linking producing areas with international markets.
2025 background
This year's performance follows the results posted by the Port of Paita in 2025, when the terminal handled more than 3,439,718 tons of cargo, 414,639 TEU, and received 669 vessels, according to APAM Nacionales and Portal Portuario, while Todo Logística News put that volume at more than 3.43 million tons. During that period, Paita exported 38,104 TEU of fresh grapes, representing 42.58% of the national total for this commodity and positioning it as the leading Peruvian port for this export.
According to Todo Logística News, the operation consolidates the terminal's role in the logistics chain for Peruvian agricultural exports, a process that requires coordination between export activity, inland transport and maritime services.
