Royal Caribbean announced its 2028-29 European season, described by the cruise line as its most extensive year-round vacation program in the region, with seven ships deployed across the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Canary Islands. For the first time, the Rhapsody of the Seas will sail in Europe all twelve months of the year, combining summer adventures with overnight stays in Egypt and winter getaways to the Canary Islands.
Bookings and Royal Beach Club Santorini
Bookings for the 2028-29 season are already open to members of the Crown & Anchor Society loyalty program, ahead of the official launch set for Thursday, October 15. Among the new offerings, passengers visiting the Greek Islands will be able to join the Ultimate Santorini Day, a full-day excursion that combines tours of Oia and Fira with access to the Royal Beach Club Santorini, which includes a beach, local dining and an open-air market featuring island products.
Rhapsody of the Seas' Deployment
The Rhapsody of the Seas will kick off the season with seven- to twelve-night sailings from Athens (Piraeus), Barcelona and Lisbon. From May through October 2028, it will sail to Turkey and Egypt, with overnight calls in Alexandria and Istanbul, along with itineraries through Greece. Starting in November 2028, it will offer nine- to twelve-night voyages through the Canary Islands, Portugal, Morocco, Cyprus, Malta and Greece, also marking the line's return to Heraklion and to Cagliari, Sardinia, after more than a decade.
The Rest of the Fleet
The remaining vessels round out the European map: the Explorer of the Seas will sail from Ravenna (Venice) to the Greek Islands, Croatia and Kotor; the Freedom of the Seas will depart from Southampton for the Norwegian fjords and Northern Europe; the Jewel of the Seas will return to Copenhagen, Stockholm and the Baltic; the Liberty of the Seas will operate from Barcelona, Athens and Rome; the Mariner of the Seas from Barcelona, Lisbon, Athens and Ravenna; and the Odyssey of the Seas will once again sail from Rome (Civitavecchia) to the Greek Islands.
