Royal Caribbean unveiled its 2028 summer season for Alaska, which will deploy four ships to the region starting in April of that year. The cruise line will offer 7-night vacations departing from Seattle, Seward, and Vancouver, with the option to extend some voyages through multi-night land-based Cruisetours. The season is already available for booking on the company's website for members of the Crown & Anchor Society loyalty program, ahead of the general public launch set for Thursday, October 1.
Ships and Itineraries
The ships assigned to the season are Anthem of the Seas, the recently amplified Ovation of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas, and Voyager of the Seas. Anthem will sail from Seward and Vancouver between May and September, combining coastal cruising with 2- to 6-night Cruisetours to Denali National Park. Ovation will depart weekly from Seattle between May and September after being upgraded in a dry dock in Singapore in April. Serenade will offer weekly departures from Vancouver from May to September, while Voyager will operate 7-night cruises from Seattle between April and September.
Destinations and Activities
Among the ports of call featured in the itineraries are Juneau, where guests can visit the Mendenhall Glacier; Skagway, with its historic district; Icy Strait Point, home to the longest and highest zipline in the area; Sitka; and Victoria, British Columbia, in the case of Voyager. Anthem will also include scenic cruising past Hubbard Glacier and calls at Ketchikan with options for fishing, kayaking, hiking, and zip-lining, while Serenade will add hiking in Prince Rupert and Ovation will offer scenic cruising through Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier.
Seward Terminal
Passengers embarking in Seward will be able to use a new terminal developed by Royal Caribbean Group together with the Alaska Railroad, designed to streamline arrival and boarding and offering direct access to the adjacent rail station. The company frames this investment as part of its SEA the Future corporate responsibility initiative, which aims to generate benefits for the local community, including the use of the space for youth and sports programs and events tied to the Port Partners entrepreneurship support program.
