Seatrium, the Singapore-based shipyard group, has renewed its multi-year repair and upgrade agreement with Carnival Corporation under the Frame Contract for Customers (FCC), covering statutory surveys, maintenance, refurbishment and upgrade projects for the group's eight cruise brands.
First vessels in the fourth quarter of 2026
Royal Princess and Carnival Luminosa will begin work in October, followed by Seabourn Encore in November, while additional Carnival vessels are expected to enter Seatrium's shipyards between 2027 and 2029 under the new agreement.
A partnership spanning back to 2010
Seatrium and Carnival have worked together since 2010, when the cruise line became Seatrium's first strategic partner in the cruise segment, a relationship that now spans fifteen years. Vera Lannek, Vice President of Strategic Sourcing and Machinery Lifecycle Management at Carnival Corporation, highlighted Seatrium's technical expertise, reliable execution and commitment to quality and safety, while Alvin Gan, Executive Vice President of Repairs and Upgrades at Seatrium, described Carnival as a cornerstone of the company's cruise business.
Network of strategic partners
The Frame Contract for Customers scheme gives partners greater certainty over the availability of repair slots, while enabling Seatrium to plan its capacity ahead of time. The company currently has 22 FCC partners, including cruise operators, LNG carrier owners, offshore companies, naval fleets and electric vessel operators.
Since 1978, Seatrium has serviced more than 442 cruise ships, cementing its position as a leading provider of cruise ship repair and upgrade services in Asia and supporting Singapore's role as an international cruise hub.
