Sedna and Nereus Bring Daily Bunker Prices into Maritime Email

Maritime software provider Sedna announced a partnership with Nereus Digital Bunkers to bring daily marine fuel price indications into the inboxes and conversations where chartering decisions and voyage operations take place. The Nereus Bunker Indication Prices app is now live on the Sedna Certified App Marketplace and allows chartering, operations, and bunker procurement teams to access prices from more than 450 ports without leaving Sedna Email.
Fuel Coverage
The integration covers six fuel grades: HSFO, VLSFO, LSMGO, ULSFO, LNG, and biofuel, showing which grades are available and their daily indication prices at each port. Nereus updates the data every day and automatically feeds it into Sedna Email, so chartering, operations, and bunker teams work from the same set of prices without having to open a second system.
The Role of Bunker Cost
Nikolas Gkikas, founder and CEO of Nereus, noted that bunker cost is estimated well before the vessel arrives at port and accounts for 40% to 60% of a voyage's total cost, so the prices behind every calculation need to be accurate and current. According to Gkikas, with Nereus integrated into Sedna, that estimate is based on the day's market prices, enabling better-informed decisions.
Sedna's Vision
Bill Dobie, founder and CEO of Sedna, said that decisions in shipping are made under time pressure, with information scattered across emails, spreadsheets, and specialized tools, and that the integration aims to bring that critical context to teams at the moment they need it. According to Splash 247, the partnership is part of Sedna's broader strategy of turning the inbox into an operational layer that connects specialized applications with the communication surrounding each voyage.
Access and Other Integrations
Sedna users can check daily indications for the top 20 bunker ports free of charge, while access to full coverage of more than 450 ports requires a Nereus subscription. Splash 247 further detailed that Sedna's Certified App Marketplace already connects the platform with providers such as Veson, Signal Ocean, StormGeo, RightShip, and Seaber, and that previous integrations incorporated GeoServe's port disbursement approvals and PortPal's shipping agency workflows.
