Servimagnus has completed the project to restore the operational capacity of the Syncrolift ship-lift platform at the Tandanor shipyard. According to Argen Ports and comex online, the work removed more than 23,000 cubic meters of sediment and raised the system's operational availability from 10% to 95%. Web Picking, however, reported that the availability achieved went from 10% to 99.5%, although it agreed on the volume of sediment removed.
Dredging and Removal Work
The project included dredging and adaptation work both along the sides of the structure and beneath the platform itself, which remained operational throughout the intervention. Dredging of the perimeter trench was carried out using the cutter suction dredge Lucio, supported by equipment such as the Multicat Máximo. In addition, Servimagnus built and operated a dredge spoil containment area with a capacity of more than 45,000 cubic meters to receive the extracted material, and used the floating crane Magnus VI, fitted with a 90-cubic-meter clamshell salvage grab, to remove existing obstacles and debris.
Work Beneath the Platform
One of the most technically demanding stages was the deepening of the area beneath the Syncrolift using a water injection system, also carried out by the dredge Lucio. For this task, the company implemented a methodology tailored to the project's specific conditions, progressively adjusting operations based on on-site results, which made it possible to work beneath an existing, fully operational structure.
Company Statements
Servimagnus General Manager Marcos De Vincenzi stated that taking part in the recovery of infrastructure of this importance was a source of great satisfaction for the company, describing the project as technically very demanding, one that required adapting both equipment and working methods to highly specific conditions. He also stated that the result achieved was the outcome of the commitment, experience and capability of the entire team involved in the project.
Increased Capacity for the Shipyard
With the completion of the project, the Syncrolift platform significantly increased its lowering capacity, expanding the usability of infrastructure considered strategic for the operations of the Tandanor shipyard and for the national shipbuilding industry.
