Hapag-Lloyd acquires 25% of Maasvlakte II in Rotterdam
Hapag-Lloyd has agreed to acquire a 25% stake in APM Terminals Maasvlakte II, a port terminal in Rotterdam. The operation seeks to secure long-term automated container capacity for the Gemini Cooperation between Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk. Maasvlakte II is undergoing an expansion that will double its deep-water berths to 2,000 meters and increase its projected annual capacity to 5.4 million TEU.
