Bulk carriers Anna S and Elina B targeted in Black Sea missile attacks

Two bulk carriers were attacked in the Black Sea on 17 August. The Liberian-flagged Anna S was hit by a missile approximately 20 nautical miles off Novorossiysk while loading grains, forcing its 21 crew members (20 Filipinos and one Romanian captain) to abandon ship and be rescued by the Malta-flagged Elina B. Approximately five hours later, Elina B was also targeted but remained operational and continued toward Turkey with both crews aboard.
