Former Ukrainian officer charged in Nord Stream pipeline sabotage case
German federal prosecutors have charged Serhii K., a former Ukrainian army officer, as co-perpetrator in the September 2022 Nord Stream pipeline blasts. According to the indictment, he acted on behalf of Ukrainian state entities to destroy Nord Stream 1 and 2, aiming to halt Russian gas revenue. Arrested in Italy in August and transferred to Germany in November, he faces charges of directing an attack on civilian objects, carrying a minimum three-year prison sentence under German law.
