Tanker traffic through Hormuz picks up after slower flows due to crossing concerns
Oil and liquefied natural gas tankers resumed transits through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday following Iran's weekend closure announcement, with shipping data showing a gradual recovery. Four Qatar-controlled LNG tankers and two supertankers carrying up to 4 million barrels of crude oil crossed the strait, while daily transits remained below the 125 crossings prior to hostilities. Ship broker Clarksons noted the positive trend despite ongoing geopolitical tensions.
