Iranian Crude Exports Surge Via Hormuz as Activity Picks Up
Iran has increased crude oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz to the highest level since the war began, with about 6 million barrels on three US-sanctioned supertankers—Elva, Virgo and Vigor—entering the chokepoint early Monday. The surge reflects broader traffic pickup as the US and Iran conduct technical talks in Switzerland following an interim peace agreement that led to a ceasefire extension and reopening of Hormuz. The movements show Iran is rapidly restarting crude production from Kharg island and Chabahar after the US lifted its blockade last week.
