Iranian Tankers Begin to Move Out Past U.S. Blockade Line
Iranian tankers are exiting the U.S. Navy blockade in the Gulf of Oman for the first time in months. TankerTrackers.com spotted two NITC VLCCs, Diona (IMO 9569695) and Hero2 (IMO 9362073), along with the Suezmax Sonia I (IMO 9357365), making the outbound run on Tuesday. Goldman Sachs estimates over 800 million barrels of tanker capacity are within five days' sailing distance of the strait, with at least 23 VLCCs heading toward UAE ports of Khor Fakkan or Fujairah.
