Maersk introduces peak season surcharge for reefer containers at Algeciras port

Maersk announced a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for import reefer container movements at the Port of Algeciras, effective 19/08/2026 (Non-FMC) and 19/09/2026 (FMC). The EUR 65 per container surcharge addresses congestion from the citrus season, with operations including direct warehouse delivery and inspection-followed-by-delivery. The surcharge remains in effect until 30/09/2026 (Non-FMC) and 31/10/2026 (FMC), subject to review based on port congestion levels.
