BGN has launched its first retail marine fuel supply service for vessels in the United States, thereby strengthening the company's integrated shipping platform and expanding its presence in one of the world's most important maritime and energy hubs.
To commence its fuel supply operations, BGN has partnered with Centerline Logistics, a Houston-based oil transportation company, by chartering two new barges, Jackson Eades and MGI 2100. The company's fleet of double-hull fuel supply barges and terminals is designed to maximize safety and minimize environmental impact.
The new venture supplies high-sulfur fuel oil (HSFO), very low-sulfur fuel oil (VLSFO), and marine gas oil (MGO) to vessels calling at ports along the Gulf of Mexico coast.
Initially, the operation will support BGN's owned and chartered LPG fleet, consisting of 40 vessels transporting U.S. LPG exports to customers worldwide, while also providing marine fuel services to external shipowners operating throughout the Gulf Coast region.
