Personnel from the Argentine Naval Prefecture assisted an 18-year-old in Mar del Plata who had become stranded in the water while kitesurfing.
The operation was deployed after the Mar del Plata Prefecture's Maritime Traffic Management Center received a call to the Nautical Emergency Line (106), reporting a person requesting help from a board, 300 meters from the shore, near the Muelle de los Pescadores.
Immediately, rescue swimmers from the national Maritime Authority departed for the area aboard a semi-rigid vessel. Upon arrival, they found the athlete exhausted from fighting against the intense winds and adrift, unable to return to shore due to the strength of the current.
Automatically, the young man was assisted to board the vessel and transferred to a nautical club in the city where the Force has a detachment. Once there, he left on his own, as he did not require medical assistance.
