The Argentine Naval Prefecture conducted a training navigation with 13 cadets from the "Gral. Matías de Irigoyen" Officer School aboard the yacht PNA YR-7 "Esperanza." The unit sailed from the Yacht Club Puerto Madero marina and, after a demanding daytime journey, moored at the academic unit's dock, located in the city of Zárate.
The route was made through the Buenos Aires Access Channel, the Emilio Mitre Channel, and the Paraná de las Palmas River. During the voyage, the future officers practiced handling lines and rigging, hoisting, lowering, and trimming the mainsail, and took turns at the helm to maintain the assigned course.
Currently, the yacht Esperanza is at the School's dock, alongside the sailboat "Estrella del Mar," ready to participate in the "88th Anniversary Regatta of the Argentine Naval Prefecture's Officer School 'Gral. Matías de Irigoyen'", which will be held in the waters of the Paraná de las Palmas, in front of Zárate. Until then, the vessel will remain moored there and will be open for visits from cadets of the Officer and Non-Commissioned Officer Schools, as well as members of Club Náutico Zárate and Club de Regatas Zárate. The crew, along with its captain, Prefect Juan Manuel Frette, will be in charge of receiving visitors.
