Princess Cruises' Royal Princess completed a two-week dry dock in Singapore, carried out between October 16 and 30, 2026, emerging with a series of enhancements to its facilities. According to the cruise line, the ship has capacity for 3,595 guests, while Cruise Mapper states it can accommodate 3,600 passengers.
Sanctuary Collection
The main highlight is the debut of the Sanctuary Collection, an all-inclusive resort-style experience previously announced for five Royal-class ships, which begins on Royal Princess with this vessel. The collection includes access to the Sanctuary Club, new ocean-view suites, mini suites, premium balcony staterooms and standard balcony staterooms, as well as the Sanctuary Restaurant, newly opened on Deck 6 next to the Concerto dining room. The Sanctuary Club will not be formally incorporated into the collection until April 22, 2027; until then, all adult guests over the age of 16 will be able to experience the space, formerly known as the Retreat Pool and The Sanctuary.
New Staterooms
As part of the dry dock work, the ship added 20 new staterooms: six mini suites, seven ocean-view staterooms, two interior staterooms and five single interior staterooms.
Piazza, Casino and Shops
At the heart of the ship, the Piazza gained two new venues: the Irish pub O’Malley’s, which took over the former Vines space on Deck 5, and an expanded version of the Bellini’s bar, which extended into the area previously occupied by the Photo Gallery. The Princess Casino was reconfigured to create a more open gaming layout, with the removal of the staircase connecting Decks 6 and 7, allowing for an expanded floor and additional slot machines. The Effy jewelry boutique was also renovated, and the onboard shops were updated following the arrival of Starboard as the new retail partner.
Bound for Australia
With the Singapore dry dock complete, Royal Princess departs for Sydney to begin a cruising season across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. The ship is one of three Princess Cruises vessels operating in the region during the 2026-27 season, which includes 42 itineraries and 62 departures.
