Crew deaths in Red Sea attack as missile strike hits Gulf vessel
Four crew members were killed in a Houthi attack on the Egyptian-owned cargo ship Tihamah in the Bab el-Mandeb strait on Tuesday, marking the first deaths in such strikes since February 28. Separately, the Panama-flagged container ship Vela Nova was struck by a missile off Pakistan in a suspected U.S. strike, reportedly the 12th vessel attacked since April's blockade announcement. Shipping through the Red Sea has fallen more than 50% since earlier Houthi attacks, with only 32 ships per day passing through last week compared to 50 before the blockade.
