Classification society ABS released a report titled 'Floating Offshore Wind and the Vessels That Support It,' produced with Intelatus Global Partners, forecasting significant demand growth for anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTSs) and multipurpose support vessels (MPSVs). Global installed floating wind capacity is projected to rise from roughly 270 MW in 2025 to about 5 GW by 2035 and more than 14 GW by 2040, with potential vessel shortages emerging as early as 2029.
