Norwegian Cruise Line to retire 5 ships while adding 16 newbuilds through 2037
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings plans to retire five ships over three years while taking delivery of 16 newbuilds through 2037. The Oceania Sirena sale is expected to close in Q3 2026, with the ship chartered back through spring 2028. CFO Mark Kempa stated capacity growth will moderate to a 2.5% CAGR from 2026 to 2029, with capital expenditure declining nearly $1 billion annually to $1.8 billion by 2028.
