Evergreen Ship Attack Slows Traffic in Strait of Hormuz
Maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz slowed down after Iran's attack on an Evergreen container ship on June 26. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) temporarily suspended its evacuation plan. Tanker transits fell to 13 on Friday, from 24 on Thursday and 27 on Wednesday. Before the conflict, the daily average was approximately 125 vessels. Crude oil prices fell more than 3%, while Saudi Arabia resumed loadings in the Persian Gulf.
