Damen ASD Tug 2713 Fuel Flexible receives class and flag state approval
Damen Shipyards Group received class and flag state approval from Bureau Veritas and the Kingdom of the Netherlands for its ASD Tug 2713 Fuel Flexible to operate on methanol fuel. The 27.25 by 12.83 metre multi-purpose vessel is designed for coastal and harbour operations including LNG terminal support, ship handling, oil pollution control and firefighting. The approval follows the 2023 approval in principle for methanol-powered compact vessels and enables operators to invest in alternative propulsion with confidence.
