National Geographic Sea Bird reports third gastrointestinal outbreak in Alaska
The CDC reported a third gastrointestinal illness outbreak aboard the National Geographic Sea Bird during its July 10th–15th, 2026 voyage in Alaska, affecting 18 of 62 passengers. The expedition vessel, operated by National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions, had previously recorded outbreaks from May 26th–31st and June 25th–30th. The crew implemented enhanced cleaning procedures and isolated affected passengers while the CDC's Vessel Sanitation Program continues monitoring the situation.
