Port of Eidfjord Expands Pier by 40 Meters with New Operational Measures
The Port of Eidfjord in Norway completed a 40-meter extension of its pier in May, reaching a total length of 160 meters. According to Inge Tangeras, CEO of Visit Eidfjord, clearly marked zones for pedestrian and bus traffic have been implemented, in addition to a 12 MVA shore power platform scheduled to be operational by April 2027. The Municipal Council formally adopted a Strategic Plan 2026-2030 which includes a policy of only one cruise ship per day, a maximum of 4,500 passengers, and at least 50% of calls connected to shore power in 2027, scaling to 100% by 2030.
