Singapore Issues First Authorization for Ammonia Bunkering Trials
Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority granted the first authorization for ammonia bunker operations using ship-to-ship fuel transfers, developed by Itochu Corporation subsidiaries. The authorization became effective on May 15, 2026, for a trial period up to two years. The first ammonia bunker vessel, with a capacity of approximately 5,000 cbm, is being built by Sasaki Shipbuilding and is expected to be delivered in September 2027.
