Russia Plans to Arm Grain Vessels in Azov Sea Against Drone Attacks
Russian military and transport authorities are proposing to arm grain ships with machine guns and mobile missile launchers in the Sea of Azov to counter Ukrainian drone attacks. The sea normally handles about a quarter of Russia's grain shipments, but trade has been suspended for two weeks due to strikes on ports and maritime infrastructure. Russia could lose 0.5 million to 1.5 million tons of grain exports monthly if restrictions remain, according to market researcher SovEcon.
