Lot 2 of route PY15, between kilometers 156 and 215, shows 90% progress in the earthworks corresponding to the Bioceanic Corridor project. The tasks are entering the structural stages for the paving of this road.
Francisco Guerrero, Superintendent of Works for the project, reported that more than 25 kilometers of granular base and more than 11 kilometers of asphalt mix base have already been constructed.
One of the biggest challenges is the transportation of crushed stone, the main input for the work, from about 400 kilometers away. To sustain this logistical operation on dirt roads, the Consorcio Chaqueño del Norte deployed heavy machinery.
These teams allow for the preservation of the road's passability and ensure the regular entry of necessary materials to advance according to contractual deadlines.
The works are promoted by the Government of Paraguay, through the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), and executed by the Consorcio Chaqueño del Norte, comprised of L.T. S.A., Constructora Heisecke S.A., and Benito Roggio e Hijos S.A.
The paving of Section 3 of the Bioceanic Road Corridor covers about 224 kilometers of route PY15, from Mariscal Estigarribia to Pozo Hondo. Its execution is distributed in four lots that are advancing at different points in the Chaco territory.
The route will form part of a continental logistics axis that will connect the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, passing through Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, and Chile. Its commissioning aims to strengthen regional integration, facilitate trade, and open new opportunities for production, investment, and development for the Chaco and all of Paraguay.
