HD Hyundai Moves Deeper Into Nuclear With TerraPower Reactor Supply Pact
South Korean shipbuilding giant HD Hyundai signed a framework agreement with TerraPower to become a preferred manufacturer for key Natrium Reactor Enclosure System (RES) components. The deal follows a year-long joint study evaluating manufacturing feasibility and production timelines. TerraPower President and CEO Chris Levesque stated the agreement ensures production capacity to support commercialization plans and build Natrium plants across the U.S. and globally. HD Hyundai also signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding with TerraPower and Hyundai Engineering & Construction for future engineering, procurement, and construction work on next-generation nuclear projects.
