Guayaquil Ports Increase Cargo Movement Driven by Foreign Trade
The main ports of Guayaquil moved 824,444 TEUs between January and March 2026, a 14% increase compared to the same period last year, according to figures from Dual Logistic. DP World Posorja led with 216,731 TEUs (26% market share), followed by Contecon Guayaquil and Terminal Portuario de Guayaquil. The growth was driven by non-oil exports such as bananas, shrimp, and wood, as well as the consolidation of new maritime routes and connection with the port of Chancay.
