UK and France Finalize Postwar Hormuz Mine-Clearing Mission
The UK and France have finalized plans to lead a multinational mine-clearing mission in the Strait of Hormuz involving a coalition of 15 countries with committed military personnel and assets. The mission will begin once the US and Iran reach an agreement to restore full commercial navigation rights. Britain's Royal Navy has already deployed RFA Lyme Bay with autonomous mine-hunting systems from Gibraltar in late May.
