Supertanker With Iraq Crude Exits Persian Gulf As Talks Continue
The very large crude carrier Eagle Verona crossed into the Arabian Sea carrying about 2 million barrels of Iraqi crude to China, as US and Iran negotiations continue to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The VLCC loaded its cargo at the Basra Oil Terminal on Feb. 28 and is scheduled to arrive at the Chinese port of Ningbo on June 12. The departure follows the LNG carrier Al Hamra's shipment to India, with 33 vessels authorized to transit the Strait in the previous 24 hours.
