Trade between Ecuador and China maintains sustained growth after two years of FTA
The Free Trade Agreement between China and Ecuador completed two years, consolidating trade exchange. During the first quarter of 2026, bilateral trade registered a growth of over 21%. Ecuadorian shrimp exports to China increased by 30%, reaching more than three-quarters of Chinese imports of this product, while Ecuadorian bananas strengthen their presence thanks to the gradual reduction of tariffs.
